Navy orders 25 maritime SATCOM antennas from Raytheon to for submarine EHF and SHF communications

SAN DIEGO, 23 April 2015. Satellite communications (SATCOM) experts at the Raytheon Co. will provide the U.S. Navy with 25 Submarine High Data Rate (Sub HDR) antenna systems under terms of an $89.1 million contract announced Wednesday.

Officials of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in San Diego are asking the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems segment in Marlborough, Mass to provide 25 Sub HDR antennas, which provide submarines with high capacity communications in the extremely high frequency (EHF) and super high frequency (SHF) SATCOM bands and enables reception of the Global Broadcast Service.
